I wish I could give the lowest possible review for this place. Never before have I ever had such a large attempt to be scammed. I went in with just a check engine light and weird noise happening at idle, and they tried to sell me on over $2,500 in repairs. This included a timing belt replacement, which I later found out you can't diagnose by anything other than how long its been since the last replacement (and my car wasn't in the typical time window for a new replacement), a brand new evap canister (a $700 part that turned out not to be necessary), among many other strange fixes. I went back to a mechanic that I go to regularly and they said all it was was an oxygen sensor and a relatively cheap fix to get the radiator fan working. Please do not trust this team, what a horrible way to do business.
Mr. Clay, after talking to my staff, I would like to take this opportunity to respond to your recent review. The estimate you’re are referring to is for your 2002 Lexus RX300 and was done on 7-13-2017 (more than 15 months ago). You are correct in that you stated at the time that your check engine light was on and that you heard a noise at idle. Once we preformed the engine diagnostic and our free 20-point vehicle inspection, we pulled 4 engine codes; P0440, P0441, P0446 and C1201. The first three codes are for evaporative emission control system problems and the last code is related to engine controls. The evaporator showed incorrect purge flow and a vent control malfunction. These codes, with a visual inspection, led my technician to diagnose replacing the evaporator canister. As far as the other services you referred to, these were recommended based on the age (2002) and mileage (139,487) of the Lexus and the fact that many of the parts were still original and well past the recommended replacement date. You also stated in your review that all that was needed was an oxygen sensor and a radiator fan fix. The original code scan and diagnosis did not pull any oxygen sensor codes and we did not observe any radiator fan issue. Based on the fact that the repairs were done more than 15 months after our original diagnosis, many things could have changed. Mr. Clay, even though diagnosing vehicles is definitely not an exact science and we are not perfect, we take pride in more than 40 years of experience by our ASE Master Technicians and thousands of satisfied customers. We take all reviews very seriously and want to ensure that the facts and circumstances are accurate to best represent our quality of work. If you would like to further discuss your review and the work performed, please call me at 985-641-1975. Respectfully, Jason Miller, Owner.
